Once upon a time, in a forest, there lived a fox. Its living place was among the rocks in the forest. 1 |
From there, the fox comes out every day at dusk to search for food. 2 |
He walks through the entire forest, eats all the food he needs, and returns to his place before dawn. 3 |
One day, as usual, the fox wandered through the forest searching for food. 4 |
But the fox got nothing that day. Left with no other option, the fox decided to go to the village near the forest in search of food. 5 |
The fox, who arrived in the village, walked around searching for food. Finally, after walking, the fox reached a place where the stray dogs lived. 6 |
Seeing the fox, all the dogs started barking and ran towards the fox. 7 |
Not knowing what to do, the fox decided to get shelter in a house. 8 |
The fox jumped over the fence of a nearby house, slowly went behind the house and hid himself. 9 |
Behind the house, large clay pots were lined up with dye mixtures for dyeing cloth. 10 |
There were various colours stuck to the sides of those pots. Seeing this, the fox was curious to know what was inside the bowl, but the pots were too high for him to reach. 11 |
However, he got up and peered into the pot. Then he tripped and fell into it. 12 |
The fox got scared, knocked the pot over and when he tried to jump out of it, the pot broke into many pieces. 13 |
At this time, the people from the house heard many noises coming from the back side of the house and started approaching where it was coming from. 14 |
When the fox saw some people approaching him, he thought, ‘I must get out of here quickly to save my life, ’ and ran away. 15 |
When the fox returned to the street, he saw the same dogs standing a short distance away. 16 |
He was worried, not knowing what to do now. 17 |
But this time, the dogs did not chase him away or bark at it. 18 |
Instead, the dogs started running away in fear when they saw the fox. The fox was surprised to see this. 19 |
‘What’s this? All the dogs ran away when they saw me?’ The fox thought for a long time, but could not figure out what was happening. But he only understood that something had happened. 20 |
‘The time is approaching dawn. We must go to the forest as soon as possible. Then we can investigate what happened,’ saying this, the fox set off for the forest. 21 |
During his journey back to the forest, he saw many animals, all of which were either running away or hiding from him. 22 |
Finally, the fox walked and ran into the deep forest and stopped at a river bank to drink water. 23 |
When he saw the reflection of himself in the water, he was surprised. 24 |
He saw his colour had changed to blue. 25 |
That was when the fox remembered that he had fallen into the pot that was kept in the house. 26 |
He also remembered the blue water that had spilt out of the pot when he broke it. 27 |
The fox now understood why the dogs and all the animals he saw on the road were feared him. 28 |
The fox now thought: ‘Of course, when they saw me in blue, they didn’t understand. They probably thought I was some scary animal.’ 29 |
The blue fox immediately had an idea. He ran into the forest as fast as he could. 30 |
When the blue fox arrived in the forest, he called all the other animals together. When they saw the blue fox, they all became afraid. 31 |
They grumbled to each other: “What is this blue animal? We have never seen this kind of animal anywhere in this forest before. It scares us just by looking at it.” 32 |
Seeing this, the fox told them: “I am the king of the jungle from today. You must all obey me. And from tomorrow onwards, you must bring me the food I need on time.” 33 |
The animals, frightened by the blue fox, did not object. 34 |
From then on, the blue fox became the king of the forest. The animals began to fear and obey him. 35 |
From that day on, the blue fox never had to wander around searching for food. All the other animals were frightened by the blue animal, and from that day on, they brought food to him right away. 36 |
The blue fox really liked the fact that the animals feared and obeyed him. 37 |
That was the reason why the blue fox did not even tell his closest friends, the foxes, that he was a colour-changed fox. 38 |
And so many days passed. 39 |
Then, a full moon day arrived. Seeing the full moon in the clear sky, the foxes in the forest began to howl. Hearing this, our king, the blue fox, also began to howl, forgetting his new role. 40 |
The other animals were stunned to see the new king of the jungle howling like fox. They quickly understood the truth. 41 |
They recognised the king standing before them was a fox painted in blue. 42 |
They rushed at the fox angrily. When the fox saw all the animals rushing towards him, he realised what would happen to him. 43 |
The fox ran away into the deep forest for his life. No one ever saw that fox again in the forest. 44 ★ |
